My Story

Dr. Leigh is a best-selling author of 5 books, and has served as a media show host on Elevation TV and Radio Network. She holds a Doctorate in Ministry - Biblical Counseling, Master of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, international certification as a substance abuse counselor, Advanced Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and an approved clinical supervisor. She also holds certifications as a life coach and mentor, a certificate in inner healing and deliverance. She is a graduate of the Kingdom School of Ministry - Trimm Global Institute.Dr. Leigh has served in ministry for 22 years collaboratively with her husband Malvin of 29 years where she co-led music ministry teams and founded a counseling ministry and safety teams. She has served as a ministry speaker, adjunct professor workshop facilitator, and conference presenter. Dr. Leigh has received multiple awards including the Visionary Leadership Award from the Criminal Justice Command Institute, Managerial Commendation, and Community Awards celebrating her accomplishments as a community builder for public safety, successful community reintegration of returning citizens, and leadership training and development to create equitable and safe communities. Dr. Leigh completed a 22-year career in the CT Department of Correction where she worked as a counselor, clinical supervisor, and program director of Residential Substance Abuse Treament (RSAT) Programs -Therapeutic Communities and Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Departments in multiple facilities before retiring as a parole manager.Dr. Leigh was lead on the Second Chance Act Grant - New Haven Reentry Initiative, US Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhoods and Justice Reinvestment Initiatives to reduce gun violence and increase successful community reintegration of people returning home. She has been featured as a guest on National Public Radio, Yale Broadcast Network. She is the founder of the Leigh K Ware Group LLC, and is currently serving the State of Georgia Department of Community Supervision as a social services program consultant - clinical supervisor.As a counselor and ministry leader, Dr. Leigh experienced seeing leaders hurting and harming others because they did not get the help and support they needed to become whole. As a recipient and a witness to the bleeding leader, Leigh had an encounter with God that changed her perspective of leadership and how she understood her own healing journey, and she began to walk out the steps to reset her life. Soon after, she began writing and published her second book the Reset Life Journal where she gives the reader 8 phases of transformation and co-authored The book, Tying the Knot Between the Ministry and The Marketplace, Vol. 2 with her focus on Leadership. She has also authored the Exceptional Faith and Leadership Book Series, and Poetry for Pioneers - Pain to Peace Collection.
